Description
This screen has the ability to display 4 lines of text. Each line can have up to 20 characters.
It has a 5V input voltage and an I2C (2 wire) interface. The background is yellow/green and it has a backlight that can be turned on or off with a jumper. Because it’s a reflective screen it’s easily readable in bright environments without a backlight.
This is the most documented and supported display type for Arduino. It’s useful on projects that require more feedback than can be gained by LED indicators.
It’s not possible to display graphics on this display but it can easily convey text and numbers with a minimal resource impact on program memory.
